Colorful Kidz specializes in creating healing environments for children and teenagers facing significant life hurdles. Our Room Makeover Program transforms standard bedrooms into personalized sanctuaries for those navigating physical disabilities, medical challenges, or long-term rehabilitation.
We understand the deep impact of trauma and instability on a child's well-being. By incorporating each child's unique interests and favorite colors, we build sensory-friendly spaces that foster a sense of security and belonging during difficult life transitions.

Our Process
Step 1
Referral
The journey begins with a referral from social workers, medical providers, or community partners who identify a child in need of a healing environment.
Step 2
Meet the Family
We visit the home to meet the family and the child, learning about their unique personality, favorite interests, and specific makeover needs.
Step 3
Design & Plan
Our creative team develops a custom design plan, sourcing vibrant colors, recycled furniture, and personalized decor to spark joy and comfort.
Step 4
Makeover Weekend
In an energetic weekend, our dedicated volunteers work together to paint, build, and decorate, physically transforming the child's sanctuary.
Step 5
Reveal & Follow-Up
We unveil the magical reveal and follow up with the family to ensure the new environment continues to inspire creativity and sense of security.

How to Nominate a Child
We welcome referrals from parents, social workers, medical professionals, and community advocates. Our program serves children and teens ages 3 to 17 residing on Cape Cod who are facing challenging life transitions, including disability, trauma, or financial hardship.
