Furniture Flipping Competition

"Cape Cod's premier furniture flipping competition returns for its 4th year! This exciting DIY challenge brings together woodworkers, furniture refinishers, interior designers, and creative enthusiasts from across the Cape for a charity furniture makeover competition inspired by the popular Flea Market Flip TV show."

Eligibility & Requirements

Who Can Apply:

  • Must be 18+ years old

  • Woodworkers, DIY enthusiasts, interior designers, furniture flippers, creative thrifters, furniture painters, and other creative professionals welcome

Mandatory Attendance:

  • Day 1: September 6th, 2025 (Shopping & Workshop Day)

  • Day 2: September 27th, 2025 (Competition Day)

Application Requirements:

  • Submit a photo of a completed DIY project you've already done

  • Only one entry per team ( you may apply with a partner, you may also apply alone and be paired with another contestant of our choosing)

  • Photos may be used for promotional purposes

  • Application deadline: August 9th, 2025 at midnight

  • Team notifications: August 10th, 2025 by 8:00 PM

Judging Criteria: Creativity and originality

Event Schedule

Day 1 - Shopping & Workshop Day (September 6th)

9:00 AM - Departure Teams of two depart from Colorful Kidz (497 Route 6A, East Sandwich) to shop local yard sales for refurbishment items.

Shopping Mission:

  • Each team receives a set budget allowance provided by Colorful Kidz

  • Must purchase 3 pieces of furniture

  • Unused funds can be spent on accessories and embellishments

  • All remaining money becomes part of your Day 2 starting funds

  • Yard sale locations provided morning of event (weather permitting)

12:00 PM - Return & Workshop Time

  • Return to Colorful Kidz with your 3 furniture pieces

  • Begin working in our workshop until 5:00 PM

  • Workshop volunteers and at least one carpenter/handyman available to assist

Workshop Access (September 7th - 21st):

  • Monday - Friday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM

  • Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Sunday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Important Notes:

  • You may bring additional materials and supplies

  • You may only use the original furniture items purchased on Day 1

  • All pieces must be completed by Sunday, September 21st at 5:00 PM

Day 2 - Competition & Sale Day (September 27th)

Location: Cape Cod Coffee, Route 130, Mashpee
Start Time: 10:00 AM
Admission: $10 at the door (children under 12 free)

Competition Format:

  • Both team members must be present to participate in the competition

  • Your completed furniture pieces will be available for purchase by the general public

  • All proceeds benefit Colorful Kidz

  • Winning Team: The team that generates the highest sales revenue wins bragging rights and fun prizes!
